Marzio Conti has been internationally recognized as one of the emerging flautists of his generation.
Only three years after having obtained his diploma at Padua Conservatory under Clementine Hoogendoorn, Conti’s study won him admission to the Paris Conservatoire Superieur where he entered Alain Marion’s class and went on to win the “Solistendiplom” in Switzerland under Conrad Klemm.In his first years of study he dedicated himself,beetween the first in Italy, to the study of the baroque instrument under Marcello Castellani who introduced him to the rediscovery and to the philologic study of the baroque repertoire.
Since his debut in 1981 with “I Solisti Veneti” at the Salzburg Festival, Marzio Conti has performer as a soloist in prestigious International concert halls and at the festivals abroad (Bunkakaikan in Tokyo, Queen Elisabeth Hall in London, San Francisco Symphony,the Hamburg Musikhalle ,Montreux Festival, Theatre Chatelet in Paris etc…) and in Italy (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino,Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Auditorium della RAI di Torino, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Serate Musicali di Milano, Filarmonica Romana, Biennale di Venezia....)
As well as performing as a soloist, Marzio Conti follone a busy teaching programme living masterclasses in Italy, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan and for the most prestigious American universities (Yale,North Texas University…).
He was engaged in the rediscovery and publication of music of the Italian eighteenth century and he worked with contemporary composers often on pieces dedicated to him.
He has made numerous recordings for Nuova Era Records, Rodolphe,Wergo, Christophorus, Fonè and radio-television recording for some of the most important European and American stations.
He was frequently invited to represent Italy at major International festivals, including the flute festivals of Nice, London, Manchester, Boston and Frankfurt .
At the end of ninety years Marzio Conti stopped his soloist acitvity to dedicate him self complitely at the conduction.
